From a population under 400 in 1905 to more than 45,000 today, Kirkland, Washington is a burgeoning “Eastside” of Seattle community anchored in lakeshore ship building and wool-milling history.

With 100 years of small town and then suburban growth, this city of seemingly “endless” shorelines has been forged into a tapestry of neighborhoods, with impressive parks and a lakeside walkable downtown full of small shops, restaurants, art galleries, historic buildings and other cultural attractions.

Juanita Beach was a family beach, as opposed to Atlanta Park in Houghton and Wildwood Pavilion in Bellevue that had occasional rowdy weekends that might have included Prohibition alcohol.
